Arrested Development
The name of this post is the name of the funniest television show EVER! I have recently purchased all three seasons for the loving boyfriend who introduced me to the hilarity of this show.
Why wouldn't you find it hilarious. Although there is nothing for anyone to truly relate to, the amount of dry humor and incredible situations are insanely hilarious. A cousin in love with another "cousin" who may not be a cousin who is in love with another unknown cousin... A brother in charge of two brothers and a sister who have never worked a day in their lives yet create more hilarious situations through their laziness than most of us could have created in a whole year. A father who has found a true comradery with his inmates in a federally funded prison. A mother who creates conflict between her children just so she comes out the winner...
Where else can you really find Ellen Degeneres' girlfriend shacked up with a man who denies his homosexuality while constantly affirming it through random comments?
Oh Ron Howard. Bring back a show that was so prematurely brought to an end and I will forever be indebted to you.

So This is Christmas...
The holiday rush has begun and I am happy to say it has started out on the right foot.
My Christmas shopping was done with enough time to have my presents wrapped and placed beneath the tree with little or no stress involved.
I have a barrage of Christmas activities swinging full speed ahead and I am elated to say that I am ready, willing, and able to commence with my Christmas spirit.
The boy toy and I have opened our gifts in a special little celebration geared toward us and it was very pleasant. We made a meal, opened presents, and finished the night off with a little taste of the television aired cartoon, Frosty the Snowman.
It was amazing, I still knew almost every word!
So, with that, I say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Holidays, and/or (insert season greeting).

News from the Underground
I am excited to say that the firm that I am most interested in is considering my application for employment!
I will not know anything for a few weeks as to whether they would like to set their eyes on this desperate face as their is a shortage of higher uppers to review my skills and qualities.
Soon my pets, soon...

Butterflies
It is winter. The snow is falling. This city is covered in a blanket of white.
I love winter activities and it gives me an excuse to wear scarves, which I love. Everything is fresh and clean and white and peaceful.
Unfortunately, that's how I feel outside of work. Inside work it is gray and slow and boring.
When the season is over and the only people starting their busiest time of the year are those residing in accounting who are finishing up their end of year tasks, I sit... and sit... and then sit some more.
Sure, we have little jobs here and there, but for the most part we have to create our own busy work and milk it for as long as we can so we appear to have a purpose.
Well, I love to help the sales team create presentation materials that will allow them to show off their own personal work, but so far I have not started to help anyone with this project and while I wait I sit and mull over how I can get a new job.
Today, after becoming fed up with calling and calling and calling those that I have sent my "Please, I am begging you, hire me!" packet and being unable to reach anyone or have anyone attempt to communicate back, I sent out e-mails.
I was unsure if this was tacky or not... will they think I am being lazy? Should I take a day off of work and personally show up to check if they are all still among the living (without so much as a peep I fear they may have all succumbed to some unknown landscape architect serial killer that hasn't been discovered by the media yet and therefore they have fallen victim in their very own offices).
Once again, as with every phone call I have made, the butterflies have returned and are fever pitched flying inside my stomach.
If they weren't so pretty I would be more angry with them.

Oh Sexism
We have been intensely seeking new salespeople to join our team.
This is great news for me because more sales people equals more work on my plate equals a happy little Gidge.
One of our potentials is a very qualified and, I think, potentially fantastic woman.
We haven't had a woman sales person since a few years before I became an employee for this company. So I say, WOOHOO!
When word gets around of another potential salesman, the general response is, "Well, does he have computer skills? Where did he work before? Do you think he's any good? What kind of sales amounts did he bring in at his last job?"
Today, as random conversation was being held just past the door to my office, I heard them talking about the potential for a female in this position. This was the question asked, "Is she hot?" That was it.
Oh sexism, you have not come a long way in this office.
